Caroline Hernandez is a British makeup artist who has worked all over the world, beginning her career in England in 1992.

Caroline attended art college after leaving school, gaining qualifications in Graphic Design and Foundation Studies in Art. Though she always loved being artistic, she knew this area of work wasn't quite right for her and enrolled in a Theatrical and Media Makeup course. She entered a competition in British fashion magazine, The Clothes Show, and won a scholarship to London College of Fashion to study makeup. Her career in makeup took her to London, where she stayed until 2013, before permanently relocating to Los Angeles.

Caroline's 20+ years career has seen her enjoy many different areas of makeup artistry. Her first job was in BBC Television. This quickly opened the door to working with various musicians and other television companies. Since then she has worked in music, video, backstage at major shows in New York, London, Milan, Paris and India, as well as advertising, celebrity, red carpet, fashion and editorial. From 2008 to 2013 she designed all the makeup for The English National Ballet, collaborating with such people as David Bamber (Tom Ford) before leaving England.

This varied career has allowed Caroline to show her versatility, creativity, and knowledge of all types of makeup. She has the ability to leap between the nuances and subtleties of a more commercial makeup, while also having the ability to create a highly creative bold look when needed, including being booked to body paint using her skills in many countries including Spain, Czech Republic, London, New York, Paris, Milan and Dubai.

Caroline has been a brand ambassador for 2 makeup brands, she joined MAC in 2001 and became a Global Senior Artist from 2004 which continued until 2019. This has given her significant exposure to the mass market cosmetics industry, in both the US and Europe, as well as developing a valuable set of skills that are more specialized as a makeup artist. She has demonstrated an ability to lead and inspire a team. Caroline received extensive media training and has appeared on TV presenting looks to an audience and written for a huge number of magazines both in print and online, including Vogue. Over the years, Caroline has written dozens of master classes, presenting them around the globe to both fellow makeup artists and journalists, from small classes to huge event halls.

Caroline's approach to designing makeup varies from job to job, but her goal is always the same, to make the person in the chair feel beautiful, and to feel empowered, confident, and that the makeup compliments their self-expression.

Caroline has worked with some of the industry's best,including Nick Knight, Rankin, Simon Emmett, Nadia Lee Cowen, Italian Vogue, Schon and Tatler.
